Ms. Sebastian co-leads the sustainability practice at John Beath Environmental, LLC, a next gen sustainability and environmental consulting firm specializing in life cycle assessment (LCA), circularity, and sustainability strategy. Prior to joining JBE in 2019, she served as the Director of Sustainability for the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) where she supported the advancement of AISI’s sustainability program and served as the in-house LCA expert. She has been the primary author and commissioner for numerous ISO-conformant LCA studies, including whole building LCAs, and has served on multiple ISO LCA critical review panels. Her experience also includes developing and reviewing Product Category Rules (PCRs) and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). She has served on various ASTM and ISO technical committees responsible for developing LCA, EPD, greenhouse gas management, and Circular Economy standards. She has also served as the Vice Chair/Secretary of the American Center for Life Cycle Assessment (ACLCA) since 2014 and was a member of the Athena Sustainable Materials Institute Board of Directors from 2014-2019. She earned her LCA Certified Professional (LCA-CP) credential in 2013. Brandie holds a B.S. in Environmental Systems Engineering with a minor in Global Business Strategies for the Earth, Energy, and Materials Industries and an M.S. in Energy & Geo-Environmental Engineering from Penn State University.
